Doing so involves knowing one’s shooting skills, which include, proper shooting positions, trigger control and aimpoint selection. Aim point selection assumes one has appropriately sighted in the rifle, knowing where on the target the bullet needs to strike, and good knowledge of exterior ballistics for the range, weather conditions, and altitude.

This section describes sighting in strategies aim point selection as a function of range to target.  We have two online sight picture generation tools to use to explore alternatives for your rifle and ammunition.
