The Fouling Shot discusses why a fouling shot may not be needed just prior to going into the field for hunting. The Hunting Zero shows how one can verify the likely zero for for his or her rifle through multiple trips to the rifle range.

The serious reloader and small commercial ammunition manufacturer can get insight into the meaning of the SAAMI pressures here: Understanding SAAMI Pressure Standards.   While the discussion is particularly useful for those with pressure testing equipment, those who are limited to published load data can gain some insight into the pressure data in those manuals.
