New this month: Ever wonder about the mysteries of kick? How often are you surprised when a "weak" cartridge like the 30-30 hurts your shoulder as much or more than your .308 Winchester? Here's a new discussion about Taming Recoil that you'll find interesting. Also, try out the new Recoil Calculator that more accurately accounts for the added impulse when the powder charge weight gets close to or exceeds the weight of the bullet! It works fine for .38 caliber target loads too.

Also, we've just added the Eotech 65 MOA Ring with quadrant ticks and a 1 MOA dot in the center reticle to the QuickPix library. Try setting the range to 30 yards with drift and drop to 0.0 inches to get a feel for the 1X magnification. After that use your own ballistic data!

Why does the Grendel get so much attention? The 6.5 Grendel was ostensibly introduced as a long-range target-grade cartridge for the AR15 platform. But, it almost instantly became embroiled in the 5.56 NATO and 7.62 NATO replacement debate. Not very long after that, folks discovered the medium game potential this cartridge offers. Read one of the discussions here: Why the Fuss about the Grendel?
